Weekend in San Antonio With Kids Itinerary
FRIDAY
With the kids in tow, we spent a weekend in San Antonio a few weeks ago. This weekend was finally free, so we decided to take a little family vacation. There are a ton of family-friendly activities and excursions available in San Antonio. This is a brief summary of our Friday–Sunday schedule.
Pearl District at 5 p.m. We took a car to the Pearl Brewery for supper in the incredibly entertaining and family-friendly Pearl District. When the weather permits, this part of town is ideal for eating al fresco, getting a drink, and letting the kids play on the lawn. The Culinary Institute, several chef-inspired restaurants, and a variety of retail stores may all be found in the Pearl District.

SATURDAY
Breakfast at 8:30 a.m. The Hilton San Antonio Hill Country served us breakfast. With the waffle maker, the kids were ecstatic. These waffles were more important than Justin and me. To be honest, I had never witnessed them eating so quickly! Additionally, they offer a fantastic breakfast buffet that has everything you could possibly want. To get a snack for the drive, we made a stop at the Fresh Connection on our way out.
10:00 AM–1:00 PM: Alamo/Riverwalk. In order to see the Alamo and the Riverwalk, we first took a car into downtown San Antonio. The children loved learning about the fight that was waged and were ecstatic about The Alamo. We crossed the street to The Riverwalk from there. Along the waterway, there are numerous stores and eateries in this neighborhood. To discover more about San Antonio’s past, you can take a boat excursion. We went to Iron Cactus for lunch. Beside the river, they have a lovely patio outside.
2:00 PM- 5:00 PM: Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch. Holy smokes did we all have a blast (grab a coupon!). The wildlife ranch is home to 500 animals of all different species (giraffes, ostrich, zebra, buffalo, kangaroo, to name a few). At arrival each car is given a bag of food. We bought two extra bags. You drive through the ranch and the animals are all hanging out. It was pretty hot so most of the deer were laying down under the trees. We were able to feed an ostrich, who was super creepy, zebra, goats and many others. They also have an area at the end were you can pet goats and see the lemurs and monkeys. There is also a small restaurant that serves snacks and appetizer type foods.
5:30–9:00 PM: Football match. After cleaning up a little, we went back to The Spur Texas Kitchen at the Hilton San Antonio Hill Country to see the A&M game. Marni, a friend of mine from Ms. Goldgirl, came over to watch the game with her husband. The children cooked s’mores and played outside with some of the other children at the hotel. Even though A&M lost, it was truly a gorgeous night, and everyone had a great time.

SUNDAY
The weather was not cooperating with our plans to visit Sea World. We ultimately decided to go home because it was pouring rain. The Hilton San Antonio Hill Country has a special SeaWorld Ultimate Family Package that is ideal for four people if you’re interested in SeaWorld. It consists of:
Four tickets to both SeaWorld and Aquatica
Daily breakfast buffet vouchers
S’mores and a pizza party
More Weekend In San Antonio Activities
