I follow a really straightforward makeup process every day. Usually, it takes me five to seven minutes to put on a face and go. That being said, I still enjoy trying out new items. The Sephora VIB/Beauty Insider Sale is one of my favorite times of the year to try out new everyday makeup or stock up on tried-and-true faves.
Let’s start with the basics of this sale:
What is a Beauty Insider?
In the US and Canada, Sephora offers a free rewards program called the Beauty Insider Program that allows you to accrue points for all of your retail purchases, which you can then exchange for premium makeup samples or beauty packages. Purchases bought at JcPenny Sephora are included in this.
What are Rewards?
Usually, premium product samples are given away as rewards. If you have enough points in your Beauty Bank for a certain reward, you can use it from the Rewards Boutique. Reward points can be exchanged for more Sephora products, either in-person or online.
How do I Redeem Rewards?
You can choose from the Rewards offered during the checkout process or add a reward from the Rewards Boutique to your online basket after logging into your Beauty Insider account. The Reward Boutique is located at the checkout counters when you shop in-store.
How do I achieve VIB Status?
Spend $350 on items at Sephora shops, online, and inside JCPenney stores in a calendar year to become a Very Important Beauty Insider. JC Penney.com purchases are not eligible for VIB status.
How do I achieve VIB Rouge Status?
To achieve Very Important Beauty Insider Rouge status, spend $1,000 in a calendar year on merchandise purchased online, at Sephora stores, and Sephora inside JCPenney stores. Purchases made on jcpenney.com do not qualify toward VIB Rouge status.

Eye Shadow Palette
Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette
For a few years now, this has been my go-to eye makeup palette. The neutral color scheme complements all eye colors and the hues are not overly dramatic. During the day, I adore donning the softer hues on the far left. I’ll go for the deeper plum or black hues if I have an event or date night scheduled. In fact, the included brush is also rather good!
Mascara
Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara
This one essentially satisfies every requirement I have for a fantastic mascara. Excellent application wand, true black, and neither clumpy or dry. The pink tube is also really adorable! When it comes to mascara, I’m avaricious. Too Faced Better Than Sex fulfills my desire for both length and volume.
Lip Crayon
NARS Lip Crayon Duo
This pair is only available at Sephora around the holidays, so I STOCK UP. The hues of these crayons are rich and creamy. The fact that I no longer need to carry a lip pencil and lipstick is the biggest perk. These lippy really are all-in-one. My favorites if you only want to test one color are: YU: Hot Pink; Cruella: Red; Do Me Baby: Mauve
Skin Care: Anti- Aging
Dr. Gross Alpha Beta Peel Extra Strength
This mug isn’t getting any younger and I don’t have the $$$ or time to shill out for chemical peels at a dermatologist every other month. These pads are a great two minute, at home alternative. I have used these for a while now and always love the results. I recommend the extra strength. I have used the gentle and it’s basically a waste of time and money with little to no results.
