4 Cozy & Calming Ways to Enjoy Mother’s Day at Home

I wrote this sponsored conversation on behalf of Walgreens. The opinions and text are entirely mine.

Carusele requested me to take part in the #WalgreensBeauty campaign, which is sponsored by Walgreens. Although I was compensated, all thoughts are my own.

Mother’s Day is quickly approaching, and I don’t know about you, but I’ve been going at full speed. As mothers, we often put ourselves last in order to care for our children, spouses, pets, and careers. Next thing you know, the black bags beneath your eyes have spread to your chin, and you feel like a zombie.

This Mother’s Day, I encourage you to set aside even a few hours to decompress, watch those shows that have piled up on the DVR, put on some lotion and a face mask, and relax. If your mother or mother-in-law reside nearby, invite them over for an afternoon of mom time while you enjoy your day!

4 WAYS TO PAMPER YOURSELF ON MOTHER’S DAY:

  1. At Home Spa: As much as I love going to a spa, they can be pretty pricey. I love running down the street to Walgreens and picking up a few of their Walgreen’s brand beauty products. Of course I end up with an entire cart full of other goodies too! Grab a new Walgreens body wash, lotion, face mask and some razors from their new line. They have revamped their products from the inside out and almost everything is free from parabens, phthalates and nothing is tested on animals. When you get home, take a shower ALONE! I know, sounds foreign right! I love the Walgreens exfoliating body wash. Next, I use their line of body lotion. My favorite scent is the cocoa & shea butter. It has a rich creamy feel and is perfect for my sensitive skin. You can see my other favorite Walgreen’s favorites and beauty hacks in this post.

2. Television/Book/Movie: During the day, we frequently have no downtime. If you’re anything like me, you’re fatigued and simply want to collapse into bed. After that lovely shower, set aside two hours of your day to read a book, watch your favorite TV show, or go to the movies alone. Liane Moriarty’s books are currently my favourites.

3. Layout: I know the weather has been insane lately, but if it’s over 70 degrees, grab your favorite lawn chair or beach towel and catch some rays. But, don’t forget sunblock! Most of us are vitamin D deficient and require sunlight, but we also want to be shielded from the sun’s harmful rays. I recently purchased the Walgreens Dry Touch SPF 55 and am really pleased with it. It is oil-free and water-resistant. From April to June, their sunscreens are BOBO 50 percent off, so stock up for summer. You may even read a book while laying down for added relaxation.

4. snooze: If reading isn’t your thing and you need to get some sleep, take a long snooze after your shower and face mask. My trick to getting that elusive snooze is to make sure the house is clean the day before. If my house is put together, I don’t have that nagging feeling.

What are your plans for Mother’s Day? What are some ways to pamper yourself that you love?

Hopefully you all can grab some “me time” and spend a bit of your day relaxing! Sending all the love and hugs to all of the moms out there who sacrifice so much for their children. You definitely deserve a day off!
